How to make chocolate ice cream without an ice cream maker?

My family loves ice cream, but sometime we want the ice cream without having to run to the store to buy some. Anyone know a good quick recipe?

CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM WITHOUT A MAKER

1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk
3/4 c. Hershey’s syrup
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. whipping cream

Pour milk into large bowl. Place bowl and beaters in freezer until ice crystals form around edge of milk. Whip until stiff peaks form. Fold in syrup, vanilla, sugar and cream. Freeze 4 to 6 hours. Yields 2 quarts.

Instructions
Things You’ll Need:

* 1/4 cup of good quality, unsweetened cocoa
* 1 cup of milk
* 18 large size marshmallows
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* 1 cup cream for whipping

Step 1

In a heavy saucepan, heat the milk. Put the cocoa in a small bowl and add milk, a small quantity at a time. Stir to completely incorporate the cocoa. Stirring constantly, add the cocoa mixture to the remaining milk. Reheat.

Step 2

Add the marshmallows one at a time, stirring until all are completely melted. Cool the mixture.

Step 3

Stir the vanilla into the cold cocoa mixture. Beat the cream until it is stiff. Stir the whipped cream into the cocoa mixture and pour it into a freezer tray. A freezer tray is any tray, metal or plastic and preferably shallow, that will fit in the freezer compartment of a regular refrigerator. It will take about 2 hours for the ice cream to freeze. Serve and enjoy!

    I will tell you from experience that it is WAY cheaper to buy your ice cream. The heavy cream alone will cost as much as a half gallon of ice cream. But if you still want to make it, just follow the recipe and freeze it in a metal container (gets cold faster), until frozen.
    Also, I know it sounds weird, but home made cinnamon ice cream is the best. It is so good on apple pie! Here is a recipe…

    INGREDIENTS
    1 cup white sugar
    1 1/2 cups half-and-half cream
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 cup heavy cream
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

    DIRECTIONS
    In a saucepan over medium-low heat, stir together the sugar and half-and-half. When the mixture begins to simmer, remove from heat, and whisk half of the mixture into the eggs. Whisk quickly so that the eggs do not scramble. Pour the egg mixture back into the saucepan, and stir in the heavy cream. Continue cooking over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thick enough to coat the back of a metal spoon. Remove from heat, and whisk in vanilla and cinnamon. Set aside to cool.
    Pour cooled mixture into an ice cream maker, and freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions
