Why does home made ice cream become a stone in the freezer and store ice cream is still scoopable?

store bought icecream is whipped full of air, up to 50%. that makes it soft enough to scoop at freezer temps.

Okay, so I used to be a top notch track athlete about 3 months ago haha.

In the past 3 months has reversed everything i've been training to do in the last 5 years. I haven't really had motivation to get back into shape since im no longer on the track team.

But lately i've been feeling ashamed of myself cuz im a waist 32, that could fit into 30. But now im struggling in the 32, reaching for 34. My diet has been like no fruits and vegetables, no exercising, I walk alot and average about 2 pints of ice cream a day. horrible i know.

So now looking at how disgusting my body has become, i now i can reverse this. i dont really like to eat fruits and veges but i would drink them when i blend them up into a shake/drink.

Can anyone give me any advice and recipes on tasty fruits/vegetable shakes/drinks that provides me with my total daily nutrition?

I'm 5'11. 19. 190lbs. male. Also should intake 2 - 2.5K Calories a day?

Exercise is my strong point, nutrition isn't.
SO I GUESS WHAT IM REALLY LOOKING FOR IS SOMEONE TO SHARE WITH ME SOME VERY TASTY DETAILED RECIPES FOR FRUIT AND VEGETABLE DRINKS! THAT I CAN MAKE USING MY BLENDER.

IM A COLLEGE STUDENT, SO TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE! JUST NEED SOMETHING THAT IS A QUICK FIX.

how do you make ice cream from compleatly freezing when you make it?

I have a ice cream maker and I follow the directions and have made a few types of ice cream..but every time I put it in the freezer the next time I go get it,,its rock solid like ice. How do you make it from not doing that?

It can sometimes be a little too hard to serve. This can be for a variety of reasons including:

1. Some of your ingredients may not have been cold enough when added to your ice cream recipe mixture (eg. anything you’ve had to heat/cook before adding)

2. The ice crystals (important in all ice cream making) may have been too big after mixing. …
faster mixing/churning = smaller ice crystals
smaller ice crystals = smoother ice cream

3. The amount and/or type of sugar used in the recipe. Concentrated sugar depresses the freezing point of ice cream, too little an amount of sugar in the recipe makes it too soft and too much makes it too hard. Each recipe can vary in how soft or hard the ice cream is after freezing, even if the same amount of sugar is used in each recipe. This is where other factors in this list can have a bearing.

4. Alcohol (such as in a white wine sorbet) is known to lowering the freezing point of anything it’s mixed into.

If mine's too hard, I take it out of the freezer several minutes before I scoop it.

Hollwood parents never stop amazing (and horrifying) me with their cluelessness!

…and so much of America spends their entire life trying to be like these boneheads! Ask most of them where Florida is and they don't have a clue, but ask when the last time Brad Pitt took a leak and they'll all be able to tell you. And we wonder why Obama has the support he has.

Anyone have a recipe for homade sugar free ice cream? Or even a good website?

SUGAR FREE ICE CREAM

2 lg. boxes sugar free pudding
4 eggs
2 cans milnot or low cholesterol milk
2 tbsp. vanilla
Dash of salt

Mix pudding as directed on box then add eggs, milk, vanilla and salt. Add enough 2% milk or whole milk if preferred to fill freezer can 2 1/2 to 3 inches from top. Freeze and enjoy. Makes 1 gallon.
